We made it just in time for the last order at 9.45pm. The usually quiet Buddy Hoagies was even quieter at this time but it suited us perfectly, though the dining experienced was rather rushed. This wasn’t the first time we patronized the cafe. Instead, it was our third attempt at this eatery situated in Bukit Timah Shopping Centre.
This place is often frequented by teenagers and young adults. It looked simple with probably the myriad of rock icons ( think The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, etc) being hung on the wall as the main attraction, at least to me.
E ordered Rosti with Sausage and topped up with Home styled Soup, Garlic Bread and an Iced tea ($10.60)
The Garlic Bread wasn’t impressive at all. It was rather soggy. The only reason I could conjure up for this shortcoming was because we were the last to order and hence it wasn’t up to standard. But no, I won’t buy that.
Ahhh. This, was good. The soup was rich and creamy. It was full of flavour with generous servings of mushrooms and chopped onions. The portion was just right to whet your appetite.
The main dish was delectable. The rosti was fried to our liking but it was the sausage that was commendable. It was succulent and the taste of the fragrant herbs exploded in your mouth with every bite.
I ordered a Tuesday Special Dinner Set which consisted of Cajun Chicken together with Home styled Soup, Garlic Bread and an Iced tea ($10.90)
The portion of the Cajun Chicken was rather small. Other than that, it was juicy and tender but a little bit charred.
Buddy Hoagies serves affordable and delicious Western fare hence the reason why we were here for a third time.
