Mayim

Mayim has been a staple Chinese eatery for E and I. The reason why we love this place is simple. They serve scrumptious food. This place always puts things into perspective after we have gone too gung-ho on Western cuisine.

Succulent and crispy

We sort of knew what we wanted from the word go. The Crispy Roast Pork ($7.80) was made to perfection. Crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. You have never tried roast pork until you have tasted this dish. Wasabi comes as a condiment. We had it once before but were discouraged by it.

Fluffy white rice

I usually don’t pay much attention to rice but this bowl here was lapped up to the very last grain. The serving was fluffy and well textured and there was even a hint of sweetness in every grain.

Smooth

Sauteed Egg with Shredded Fish and Dried Scallops ($10.00) is one of our favourites. Great combination.

We don’t usually have Fried Chicken with Ginger Wine ($10.80) but our items were getting too repetitive from the previous numerous visits, so we decided we needed a change. This dish was acceptable.

H.K Ice tea with milk ($3.00) as always for E and Soya bean milk ($2.20) for me.

One satisfied girl

Mayim isn’t great. It’s wonderful. There are lots of other dishes worth trying and I haven’t even touch on desserts! Take my word for it and you will be singing their praises in no time.
