I wasn’t kidding when I said the brunch bug hit us. And I foresee that this will happen regularly because we simply love it. Things started out in a similar fashion as last week but this time round the place was easier to find.
If you are claustrophobic, you will cower in fear upon entering 40 Hands. While the place might be cosy for some, to me I think it’s just plain squeezy. The lack of room certainly didn’t help the fact that the place was packed with people. What seemed to be another problem was the lack of menus. Whatever that was on offer was presented at the counter so this meant that you have to be cocksure of what you wanted to get or risk facing an awkward session of “er…mmm…ahhhs” with the cashier/waiter.
Cappucinno was alright. My hot chocolate was better.
Eggs Benedict ($13) was rather soggy and it lacked punch in terms of flavour.
Salmon Hash ($18) was alright. It came with fries, 2 pieces of toast and creamy, thick and rich salmon hash with potatoes.
We did not quite enjoy this place. The food was mediocre and the place rather noisy. What irked me the most? You guessed it, the lack of space.
Merry Christmas and enjoy good food!
