Carpenter and Cook – All Things Antique & Delicious
Some people discard old objects like some soiled garment never to be used again while others idolize them fervently. At Carpenter and Cook, antiques fill the shop to its brim.
What’s interesting is that items being displayed are actually on sale too.
I would say the items on their menu are few and far between. Being a slob, I would prefer someone to wait patiently at my table, smiling while I decide on what I should have. However, getting your food meant ungluing your butt from the seat and queuing up, recess time style.
The Bacon Quiche ($7.00) sang of aromatic onions and salty bacon embedded inside a sea of soft and moist egg. E’s face dripped with content when a mouthful of quiche met her tongue. It was simply amazing.
Frangipane Fruit Tart ($6.20) was a feast to the eyes. Pretty to look at but the taste hovered somewhere along the average. The berries were a tad sour and the tart dry.
A great place to waste your afternoons away, Carpenter and Cook is surprisingly crowed considering its location.
